This work retells a personal experience from Joash's perspective - the discovery of one of his close friends lying on the pavement in the middle of the night. Joash's friend had been going through a really horrible time - a dark period of grief and loss. He had lost two family members and had a marriage breakdown, and Joash found him lying on the pavement, looking up at the stars. Joash didn’t really know what to do, so he got down and lay with him. So the dance is the story of the conversation that took place that night, and his journey forward. It is about support and brotherhood, and how people help each other get through those hard times, from a male perspective.
"I like to transport the audience and take them on a journey with me to feel my laughter, pain and happiness - things that they will be able to relate to - and then bring them back safely."
